Message from the principal
Dear
Students, Staff and Parents,
Welcome
to the 20-2020 school year!
Don
Bosco Central School Manjeshwar is a home away from home. It is a temple of
learning and a home of cheerfulness. At the very outset let us vouch to provide
a holistic education to our dear students, an education that is based on four
pillars namely learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together and
learning to be. We shall leave no stone unturned in providing an all-round
formation which was proposed by the father of our nation. “By education I mean an all-round drawing out of the best
in child and man-body, mind and spirit. Literacy is not the end of education or
even the beginning.” M. K. Gandhi. Children of today are in need of an
all-encompassing formation such as human formation physical formation,
intellectual formation, emotional formation, spiritual formation, moral formation
and socialization. This can be achieved through effective teaching and learning
process offered in the school in an atmosphere of freedom from within and without
and nurtured from the homely set up of school. I feel proud to place before you
‘the preventive system of education’ proposed by Don Bosco. This system is
tested and proved by the history as the student friendly and effective
pedagogical system in molding and shaping the children to be good religious and
honest citizens.
Below
are our some of the beliefs regarding teaching and learning that I believe as
part of this process.
Effective
teachers:

Successful
students:
v Begin with end in mind: A
clear goal.
v Emerge out of a cheerful
homily atmosphere in the school.
v Hold on to positive
attitudes, optimism and joy.
v ‘I will’ and ‘I can’ are
their response to the challenging situations in life.
v Demonstrate a sensitivity
to the precision and nuances of written, visual, and aural medium through
comprehension, interpretation, and evaluation;
v Employ critical and creative
thinking skills to solve problems; and
v Pose questions, examine
possibilities, and apply skills to find solutions to authentic issues.
v Make positive choices
related to physical and mental wellness; and
v Contribute to the local and
global community in a collaborative and respectful manner
v Commit themselves to social
causes.
Wish
you all a fruitful and enjoyable academic year.
Sincerely,
Fr.
